This past Monday was Tommy's first day of pre-kindergarten. I can hardly believe that my tiny baby boy is already getting ready for kindergarten, but he loves to remind me. Almost every time we pass his elementary school (which is a lot since we live right across the street), he says something like, "Hey Mama, I am four and next year when I am five I am going to my big school!" Yes, I know baby, but don't remind me! He really proved his big-kid status on Monday morning though. I got out of the shower and found him on a chair at the counter making his own breakfast. He had a cutting board, two pieces of bread, peanut butter, nutella, and a butter knife. I was way impressed. When I asked him what he was doing he shrugged and said, "Making wunch." For some reason, he likes to call every meal lunch. We're working on it. So I asked him what he was making for
breakfast, and he said, "A peanut butter-tewwa sandwich!" Nice. So he made it (with just a little help from his mama) and ate every bite. Next thing I know he'll be off to college.
After he finished eating, we got him all cleaned up and ready for school and then decided to take some pictures. He loved posing with his baby sister, but not by himself.
He was super excited for school despite his expression in the previous picture, and went right in to play with his friends and get started with the school year. So proud of my big old boy!
