SURPRISE!!!

Finally, here they are! The pictures from the time leading up to and including Gramma's first SURPRISE on her big birthday weekend! (As narrated by Tommy.)

Hooray! Gramma's coming!
Is she here yet cousin Julia?
Any time now!
Did you really see her or are you just pulling my leg Aunt Ki-Ki?

Well, since she's not here yet, I guess I can play with all of you.

CHEESE!

Oh, Uncle Jeremy, you're so funny!

I think I heard a car door!

Nope, not here yet.

Ok Uncle Jeremy, let's read a book while we wait.

Hooray! Uncle Jeremy can read! :)

Butter, you stay out there. I mean it!

Hey, is that her? I think she's here!Ok everyone, this is it. On the count of 3.
1 . . . 2 . . .

3 . . . SURPRISE!!!
Gotcha Gramma!

Yep, everyone's here!

I got a little scared when we all yelled surprise . . .
But the next morning I was feeling better, and played some bridge with Uncle Nick.

And there you have it! Those are all the pictures I have from the weekend. If anyone has a few others from the party, send them and I'll get them posted.

Tomorrow night we'll be heading to church to go trunk-or-treating! Tommy will be adorable in his costume - I'll try to post a picture tomorrow night after we get home.

A Kiss For You

I finally managed to capture Tommy's "new moves" on video. Here he is giving a high 5 and blowing a few kisses. He also says, "Done" and then proceeds to shove another bite into his mouth. We're still working on the when part of what to say and when to say it.

Forgot one

I forgot to add one of my favorite pictures from our weekend with Gatty and Uncle Ralph:

Here's Tommy tasting and then shoving his first rice krispie treat into his mouth. Mmmmm, krispie treat! (He really does the sound effects, too. He puts a bite up to his mouth, says "Mmmmmmm" and then shoves the food into his mouth. Too cute.)

To Grandmother's House We Went. . .

. . . Sort of. We spent the weekend in Richmond, VA surprising Gramma for her big birthday! Tommy and Aunt Ki-Ki (who flew in from Colorado for the big day) were the first surprise on Friday afternoon, and the big party on Saturday afternoon was the second surprise. Everyone managed to keep their mouths shut until the appropriate time, and upon it's arrival, shouted "SURPRISE" all at the same time. Hooray for surprises! We haven't gotten all the photos of our trip up here yet, so for now I'll post some from the weekend before, which sadly got skipped over in all the craziness of trying to get through a test and packing and getting out of town.

Gatty and Uncle Ralph came down to visit while Will was out of town. Uncle R. went to Cherokee for a bit while Gatty and Tommy and I headed to Grandad's to get some apples. We ended up getting a 1/2 bushel of #2 Golden Delicious apples for only $6!! And guess how many apples comes in 1/2 a bushel? We laid them all out and counted 83!! What a deal! Here are some pictures from our weekend antics.
First, here's a shot of 79 of our 83 apples (we had already eaten the other 4).

Here's Tommy with his cute little pumpkin that Gatty brought him.

Tommy and Gatty and Uncle Ralph in the background (Gotcha!). :)

Before they left, Gatty gave Tommy his nightly bath. We may have had a little too much fun styling his amazingly stylish hair.

I'll try to get the most recent weekend photos up here in the next day or so. Until next time bloggers. . .

Notice Anything?

He's grown out of it now, but for awhile there, Tommy did everything with his tongue out. Here are just a few examples.

Fun With Da

As I was looking through our pictures tonight, I found these cute ones of Tommy and Will. This is a good representation of their playtime - climbing and running and bouncing and laughing. They are quite the pair. Tommy's little face always lights up with he hears the door open as Will comes in from work. He runs over to the gate at the top of the stairs and says, "DA!" Tommy does call Will "dada" but usually shortens it to just "da". When he wants to get Will's attention he yells, "ey da!". Adorable. Tommy definitely loves his da.

The New Fleet

After Tommy was born, we had a ton of offers for babysitters. Being 6 to 8 hours away from most of our family, we knew at some point we were going to have to take advantage of so many kind offers. Now that I've gone back to school and Will continues to have several meetings a month that overlap my classes, we have had the opportunity to call several of the people who offered so generously to come over and play with Tommy while we're out.

One of the sweet couples who recently stayed with Tommy brought him his new favorite toys. He loves trucks to begin with so this new John Deere fleet fits in perfectly with Tommy's playtime adventures. From left to right in the picture below we have: Big John Tractor, Larry the Loader, Little Johnny and Gary the Gator (no kidding, these names were on the package).

We figure that, of course, Gussy and Great Uncle Joe will most appreciate the fact that Tommy now owns these toys, because they gave Tommy his first John Deere shirt that he finally grew into over the summer. Here he is wearing said t-shirt. From this picture it's apparent that nothing runs (or sleeps) like a Deere.

Mmmmmm, Stick

Two posts in one day?!?! That's a first.
Some pictures from one of our first cool mornings here in beautiful WNC. FYI, we do not encourage him to eat sticks, but it made a pretty cute picture.
