House Plans

Things are finally starting to come together around our house. After a few weeks of craziness, we're getting things put in their places, finding homes for new things, and crossing lots of things off "the list".

I made this ambitious list about a month ago and showed it to Will in hopes of accomplishing at least a few things before August. At the rate we're going, every single thing will be done before June! Below is the list with an "X" next to those things that are complete. Mom and Dad helped us get some big things started and finished up this past weekend: raised beds and new bushes out front. Thank you!! On tap for this week: paint in the living room, nursery, and hall, finishing up the outside front and back tasks (if I can find the climatis I want), and start hanging some of the many (many!) pictures that have been brought from Farmville (not to mention the ones we already had that we have yet to hang). Also, a consultation for new windows.

Under Construction

Just as I had gotten on a roll with posting some updates.....we're having to unplug for a bit while we switch up some rooms of our house in preparation for the baby. The office is becoming our bedroom, our bedroom is becoming the nursery, and the playroom is becoming the office. Our kids will have the entire second floor to themselves - it'll basically be a book/toystore with all of their things in those two huge rooms. Can't wait to get it all done! Will painted the office and our room yesterday, we're hopefully getting new carpet in those rooms sometime this week, and then we'll arrange them and move on up to painting the nursery and getting that all set up. Kids bathroom will get new towels and shower curtain, and then there's also all the things we want to do outside....raised beds next weekend (with mom and dad's help!), taking out the near dead boxwoods in front and replacing them, climatis in front of the lamp post, etc. Lots to do before August! As soon as we get things back in order, I'll continue with the updates. There's green eggs and ham symphony pictures, the blue van pictures, and now painting pictures. Happy Tuesday!

PA Weekend

Back in February, we spend a weekend in PA visiting Mimi and Pa, DeeDee and Uncle Matt, Uncle Bear, and GG. Tommy and Matt got to spend some quality time together (in the picture below, Matt was picking Tommy up so he could shoot the pig nose at the fan - so funny!) playing with toys and doing some Wii bowling. Tommy is a natural born Wii bowler and threw I don't know how many strikes while we all watched and cheered. Ping pong was also on tap for the weekend although he didn't do as well with that as he did with the bowling. And finally, a quality visit with Tommy's buddy Henry closed out the weekend. Aren't they cute?!

Bristol Trip

After spending three years being only two hours away from Aunt T and Uncle Ralph, we were definitely spoiled by their generosity and kindness. Now that we're further away, we don't get to make the trip nearly as often, so Tommy and I decided to head on down a few weeks ago and spend some quality time. Not only does he have a great time with Gatty and Uncle Ralph, but Tommy also love love loves the kitties, Ginger and Hidey, and follows them around non-stop (much to Hidey's dismay!). Thankfully, Ginger is friendly (and brave!) enough to let a wild little three-year-old try to pick her up, pull her tail, and throw treats at her, in addition to giving her more hugs than she probably bargained for. You can clearly see the love in the pictures below! During our visit, Tommy got to spend time at the playground, check out all the pets at the pet store, and get out a bunch of Shawn and Brett's old toys, which he LOVED! On Saturday evening, Shawn and Amber were able to come by for a visit - first time we've seen them in over a year! It was so great to catch up and spend some time together. Shawn and Tommy had fun passing the basketball and playing with all the old toys. Although there is much love between Tommy and the kitties, he wasn't so sure about S&A's dog Hailey, although he did warm up a little by the end! Thanks again, Gatty and Uncle R, for another great weekend in Bristol! We'll be back for Rhythm and Roots in September! Love you :)

A Christmas Smorgasbord

For your viewing pleasure: Christmas Eve treats for Santa and Rudolph, Christmas morning, so much shoveling, visiting Gramma on Christmas Day, opening presents at Steffy's, Tommy's fantastic new John Deere blanket (thanks GG!), quality time with Uncle Ralph, sledding sledding at the farm, and being silly with GG :)

One of my favorite Tommy quotes from Christmas has to be when he opened up the new kitchen Santa brought him. He took one look at the picture on the box and said, "This is for a girl!" He's been spending too much time around his daddy and uncles who like to joke that the kitchen is only for girls. I'll have you know that Will is fully broken in: he does his own dishes throughout the day and all of them after dinner :)

Updates

Ok, this blog is in serious need of some updates.

Update #1: It's a girl :)

Future updates: Christmas pictures, Bristol pictures, one or two from Pennsylvania, Tommy and the blue van, and a comparison of 20 week ultrasound pictures (they have the same nose!). My goal is to start tonight, but I should let you know that that was my goal for LAST night and it didn't happen. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Also on the list of things to do for tonight: pull out all of Tommy's old clothes and start going through them. Hopefully both of these will at least be started tonight. We'll see. Happy Thursday!
