Weekend Fun

I may or may not have an extra sweet tooth with this baby, and as a result, I may or may not be eating an ice cream cone almost every evening around, say, 7pm. :) Tommy is quite fond of this new "routine" as you can imagine, and looks forward to our time spent out on the deck enjoying our cones. Sometimes he even likes to put a little on his nose just for fun :)

The garden is all planted (it has been for awhile) and things are coming along quite nicely. In the below picture we have two rows of beans, zucchini, chives, parsley, basil, and thyme.

Here, we have a row of younger beans, peppers, cucumbers, nashturtiums, and tomatoes.

Saturday morning, Tommy and I got up early and headed over to the Farmers Market to pick up some things for the week. The nice man selling blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries let Tommy try one of the blueberries to see if he liked them. Low and behold, the child who hasn't eaten a blueberry since he was about 2 years old, said he now loved blueberries and wanted to buy some. Done! So we brought some home and ate them the same day! I used up the eggplant right away as well - fried eggplant cakes topped with greenhouse tomatoes - YUM! A perfect June dinner.

Another food that Tommy has decided he (FINALLY) likes, is peanut butter sandwiches. Don't even THINK about putting jelly on it, but a little peanut butter on both sides, and he's a happy boy. Here he is enjoying a peanut butter sandwich and a bowl of blueberries for lunch.

On Sunday night, Tommy played his first game of Yahtzee (or as he calls it, Yahtza). He did great rolling the dice and even rolled a Yahtzee! Will, however, rolled TWO yahtzees. Even with that extra 50 points, he only beat me by 2. (Will's second Yahtzee is the 6s below, and Tommy's first-ever Yahtzee is the 4s.)

And one last new "food" for Tommy this weekend: milk. That boy hasn't had milk since he was a baby and yesterday he drank an entire glass. Interesting, very interesting.

And last we have a picture of Tommy during our laughing fit at dinner. I tried to give him a bite of my mashed potatoes TWICE and TWICE they fell off onto the table. I asked him if he had a hole in his mouth. He thought that was pretty funny :)

Ok, I'm off to finish up the birthday boy's cake for tomorrow!! Can't wait to spend the day with my boys :)
