Tommy's 4th Birthday!

We have a four year old. When did that happen?! I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that my tiny baby who was just born yesterday (wasn't he?!) is now a whopping four years old. I'm can't let my mind wander too far because thoughts of Kindergarten are too much for me to take. For now, I'll just try to get used to him being four.

We had a great day starting out at the Brickhouse Diner for french toast and sausage. After breakfast, we headed home so Tommy could open his presents: the airplane from Cars 2, a bubble mower, and a new bike! He immediately wanted to head outside to cut the grass and go for a ride. After playing outside for awhile in the absolutely perfect June weather (80 degrees and a nice breeze blowing!), we packed up a lunch and headed to Maymont Park. First up: the zoo. We walked through all the animals where we spotted a gray fox, a great horned owl, a couple of bison, and a big black bear. From there we headed on through the park, passing through the gardens and over the stepping stones. We had lunch under a nice tree by the railroad tracks and ended up getting to see a huge train go by which Tommy loved. We then circled back up to the car and headed home for more bike riding, bubble mowing, and playing with the new airplane. We met PaPa, Jean, and Uncle Jeremy at Red Robin for dinner, and afterward, headed up the road for a game of putt-putt (where I beat Will for the second time in a row!). When we got home it was time for tractor cake! Tommy requested the entire tractor...so I cut it out and gave it to him :) So much fun with our big old boy! Here's to another great year ahead!
