More Christmas Pictures

This second installment of pictures comes from the Stables family Christmas gathering. The week started off with a bang and a trip to the ER when poor Gramma fell and broke her ankle. Once we got her home and comfortable, the first order of business was to shovel the snow-covered driveways. The men worked hard and got the job done in good time. Upon completion of the drive, the second order of business was to have FUN! Sledding, a treat for Santa and Rudolf, lots of presents (though Tommy still loves the vacuum cleaner hoses the most), good food (mashed potatoes from the beaters), Wii tournaments, and a day with the whole family (somehow I don't have a group shot - did we even take one?) filled the rest of our time in snowy Farmville. I'm happy to report that five weeks and one surgery later, Gramma has graduated to her hard cast and is doing well!

Christmas Pictures - Finally!

The first installment of our 2009 Christmas travels begins with the Williams family. First we spent an evening out with the whole crew where Tommy got to meet his new pal Kristen (pics are out of order - refer to the last few). A good time was had by all as we got caught up on news, exchanged a few gifts, and shared a nice meal. Soon after that, when KiKi arrived from Denver, we got together at Pa Pa and Jean's to celebrate. Tommy had fun hitting people with pillows, pushing his "shopping cart", and playing football.

SNOW

Some pictures of our adventures in the snow! Our good friend Josh came through last Thursday on his way to a wedding in VA Beach and ended up coming back to stay for a few days when he discoverd that sections of 64 were "impassable." No problem! More fun for us and Tommy in the snow! Up at the top of the to-do list after Christmas is "BUY A SLED" so we'll be prepared the next time it snows this winter season. And for those of you wondering... Yes, it WILL snow again :)

Cookies!

Snowed in? No problem! After the big December snow of 2009 that dumped over a foot of snow on our little corner of the city, Tommy and I settled into the kitchen to make Christmas cookies! We started with jam thumbprints, then moved on to sugar cookies, and finished up this afternoon with chocolate snowman cupcakes. They all taste great and are, of course, calorie free since I had to make them using half regular and half whole wheat flour (the only flour left at Kroger after the snow-crazed/Christmas shoppers). As a final note, please don't pay attention to Tommy's teeth in the picture of us holding the snowman cupcake -- he had just eaten a handful of M&Ms (not to mention about 3 marshmallows, sprinkles, frosting, and more M&Ms - he's definitely had enough sugar to last him until Christmas). Squanto

First of all, we would just like to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE DEE!!! WE LOVE YOU!!

We got the idea for this costume from MSB and decided to make it this year for Thanksgiving! Tommy had already made his "hat" at school, so we just cut a paper bag, decorated it, and voila -- instant "Squanto" costume (as Tommy likes to call it).
