Birthday Beach Trip

We've been a little under the weather here in the last week or so.  Here's how it goes:  Tommy comes home from school with some kind of cold or bug, I wash my hands like a maniac but still manage to catch whatever it is he has right as he's getting over it, and then Annabel comes down with a stuffy nose.  It's a cycle my friends.  I'll learn to live with it.  If I'm being completely honest though, it's actually been kind of nice to slow down a bit.  Annabel and I have been sitting on the couch drinking tea, reading Pride and Prejudice (I've been scared of that book for a long time but am loving it so far!), and falling asleep for a few minutes here and there.  Well, that's what I've been doing.  Annabel just sleeps in my arms.  And there's not much in the world that's better than holding a sleeping baby.  When Tommy comes home from school, we lay out all the wonderful fleece blankets that GG's made for us and play games of Sorry and Candyland, read books, and listen to our ever-changing favorite Elizabeth Mitchell songs.  Then we try a million different ways to try and get Annabel to smile at us.  It's a nice way to spend a day.

At any rate, now that Blogger seems to be on the up and up, here are pictures from our fantastic weekend at the beach.

Way back in September (man, I'm way behind on pictures now), we decided to take our first trip as a family of four.  We packed up the car with what looked like enough stuff to last us a at least a month, and headed down to the Outer Banks to celebrate Daddy's birthday.  We packed a TON of activities into our two day stay and had so much fun!
