Rainy Days

We're on day number two of rain here in Central Virginia with no end in sight. As the tropical storm makes its way up the coast, we're supposed to be sopping wet until Sunday (although Saturday might be more on the sunny side).  Since it's just about impossible for my best boy (and, let's be honest, his mama, too!) to stay inside all day, we decided to suit him up in rain gear and do some puddle hopping. Check out those sleeves though.  Looks like it's time for a new raincoat!  Annabel and I stayed dry on the front porch while Tommy splashed around in the puddles until thunder and lightning chased us all back inside.  We may be venturing out to the library and the grocery store later this afternoon, but that remains to be seen.  Also on Tommy's agenda for this rainy week:  lots of books, puzzles, playdoh, trucks, coloring, and maybe some letter writing.

Sweet baby Annabel is getting some major experiences under her belt quite early in life.  In less than three weeks of living, she's already been through an earthquake, a hurricane, and now a tropical storm with torrential rains.  All that and she still sleeps like an angel!  As for Annabel's rainy week plans....she'll stick with eating, sleeping, laying on her tummy, and rocking with mama.

Happy rainy week to you!
