North Shore Wedding

This past weekend, we packed up the car and settled in for the LONG drive up to Sam and Deirdre's wedding in beautiful Gloucester, Massachusetts. Instead of driving all the way to Gloucester though, we were able to stop and stay the night with Nanny first. What should have taken about 10 hours ended up taking 13...darn New York City traffic! But all was well when we finally made it to Nanny's house and saw her smiling face! So glad she waited up for us. We spent a couple hours visiting (and eating!) with her and Uncle Bill who stopped by on his way home to Boston. I didn't even unpack the camera though, so there aren't any pictures from her house. After a good nights sleep, we got up early and walked over to Dunkin Donuts for some pink frosted donuts. I love Millis! After breakfast, we packed up and drove the 1.5 hours over to the shore. Wow! The pictures below do not even begin to do justice to how beautiful the coast is! We met up with Dani, Matt, and Carrie, checked into our room, and headed across the street to skip some rocks and check out the beach. After playing for a bit, it was time to get a quick lunch at Charlie's, a local sandwich shop recommended to us by the hotel. Will, Matt, and Carrie enjoyed the delicious lobster roll - I was so (so so so) jealous! No shellfish allowed for me. After lunch, we got ready for the wedding. Sam and Deirdre's service was in a sweet little church down the road from the hotel. We got to visit with the family for a bit afterwards and then everyone headed back to the hotel for the reception. I think it's safe to say that Tommy was quite a hit with his dancing moves. That boy has rhythm! At one point, half the dance floor was filled with a circle of people all watching (and videoing) our boy bust a move. It was great! Hopefully I can get Sam to send me the video he took so I can put it up here. I had put my camera away and don't have any pictures of my own to post. We had a great night of fun and food and family! Glad we were able to make the trip and celebrate the beautiful bride and groom :)
