Apple Picking

This past Saturday was Gramma's birthday! To celebrate, we got up early, packed up the car, and headed to Carter Mountain for some apple picking. Tommy had a great time picking some perfect Fuji apples, running through the pumpkins, riding on the wagon, drinking some apple cider, eating apple cider donuts, and most of all, spending time with Gramma! So begins a new tradition for our family. Looking forward to many more to come!

Sandbridge 2010

Although we didn't have a full week in sunny Sandbridge, we quite enjoyed our few days playing in the sand and surf. Unfortunately, Tommy "swiced" his finger on a can on the Friday night before we left for the beach on Sunday. It was definitely a challenge changing the bandage, but despite a few screaming episodes (I quickly learned to change it at night while he was sleeping - piece of cake!) he had a fantastic time jumping over the waves, digging digging in the sand, and playing with all the family that gathered to soak up the sun. New England Vacation Part 2

After spending a few wonderful days in Millis, Deb and sweet Kendall were nice enough to give us a lift to Vermont where we spent a night at Aunt Sue and Uncle Rob's amazing home at Seaver Hill Farm. Tommy and Kendall quickly became (in Tommy's words) "best dude buddies" :) The next morning, after a perfect pancake breakfast, Deb and Kendall headed home while Tommy, Aunt Sue, and I headed out for a train ride and then swimming at the Quechee club. We had so much fun catching up with everyone! Later that afternoon, Aunt Sue took us over to Plymouth where we met up with Will who was working at Bethany Birches Camp with Brandon and Amber. Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures with B&A this year, but we defintely had a great time kayaking, playing basketball, swinging, and spending time with everyone. Spending a few summer days at BBC is becoming a fun tradition for us (our third year this year!) that we hope to continue again next year. From Plymouth, it was a long 11 hour trip back home, but we entertained ourselves with sock puppets, my iPod, and the amazing radio stations we found along the way. You can see Tommy and Will bopping along to "I Will Survive" :) And with that, our New Englad vacation sadly came to a close. Thanks again, everyone, for such a wonderful week! We love you!

New England Vacation Part 1

The first week of August found our little family vacationing in Massachusetts and Vermont. Will was volunteering at Bethany Birches Camp in Plymouth, and Tommy and I were visiting with family in and around Boston before heading up to camp ourselves. We had a great few days catching up with everyone and enjoyed walking around town eating donuts from Dunkin and drinking iced coffee (me - I seriously might be addicted to hazelnut iced coffee - if you haven't tried it, GO! NOW!) and orange juice (Tommy) from McDonald's. Both of said establishments are within walking distance (5 minutes) from Nanny's house. If I lived in Millis I would be seriously overweight. No joke.

We had a most amazing time at Nan's house. I loved watching her and Tommy playing out on the porch together - brought back so many memories of my sisters and I playing with her out there. Also got to play in and out of the pool at Aunt Gayle and Uncle John's one night - wonderful as always!

On Tuesday, Aunt Jan came and picked us up for an exciting afternoon in Boston. Walked through Boston Garden and rode the swan boats, then headed over to the Common where we rode the carousel, walked through the frog pond, and watched Tommy get soaked in the fountains at the playground. Walked to Uncle Bill's office, then headed to Faneuil Hall where we watched a street performer finish up his juggling act. Walked by the site of the "Big Dig" and then over by the marina to watch the boats come in and the planes take off across the water. Saw the seals swimming belly-up in front of the aquarium, and finished a most perfect day with a pomegranite lemon drop and lobster roll (me) and pizza (Tommy) at Legal Sea Food right on the water. It doesn't get much better than that. Rode home on the Green B train (which Tommy LOVED), and then headed back to Nan's. A great day to remember always.

P.s. I only took one picture of Tommy and Nanny at her insistance. Otherwise, we would have come home with at least 100 :) Love you, Nan! So glad we could come visit!
