Happy Day!

Today we celebrate Tommy's 2nd birthday! Can't believe how fast the time has flown by. Here's some fun pictures of opening presents and blowing out the candle on his birthday cake! Tonight we're heading to the pool for the FUMC youth end-of-year picnic and probably another round of singing "Happy Birthday" to our big two-year-old boy! Here's to many more birthdays full of cakes and surprises with the sweetest, funniest, cutest, happiest, bestest boy in the whole world! Happy Birthday, Tommy! We love you!

Seriously?

Is it really May 23? And my last post was April 9? Where have April and May gone? Now that school is over and summer is almost here, there should be more time for posting and lots more pictures to share. Since I haven't gotten the newest ones off my camera yet, here's a story Tommy told me a few weeks ago when I came home from school:

Me, Dada, ball, outside. (Self-explanatory)
Uh oh, ball down! (The ball fell off the deck)
Oh no! Dada, downstairs! (Dada had to go get the ball)

Lately his favorite thing to tell us about is his "big sneeze." He also points out every tractor and big truck we pass by on the road. He's working on his counting, and although he doesn't say one or four, he gets all the way to ten: two, see, fih, six, sehn, eih, nih, TEH!!! Mostly he just says eight, nine, ten.

Well, even though there are no pictures, at least there's something new up here. Hopefully I'll get those pictures off the camera and get them posted sometime this weekend. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!!

Bristol Weekend

Here, in no particular order, are some of the pictures from our great weekend in Bristol! Although it got off to a teetering (literally) start, Mimi and Pa managed to get themselves out of the ditch and to the house to spend some quality time with Tommy.

Virginia Weekend

Here are some pictures from our quick trip to VA last weekend. Tommy had a great time seeing everyone and has been talking about it all week! Here he is with Uncle Matt, Dee Dee, Gramma and Uncle Jer-Jer. Hopefully tonight I'll be posting pictures of Tommy with Gatty's kitties, and then our trip to Carl Sandburg to visit the goats from this morning. The weather is so beautiful, we've been trying to take advantage of it and get out as much as possible. Tommy likes to go down to the park to watch the "bats and balls" of the H'ville girls softball practice. Or maybe he just likes to watch the girls...he's too young for that, right?!?!?!

We're back from a great couple of days spent visiting family in Virginia! Tommy had a wonderful time and keeps telling Will and I, "I saw Jer-Jer, I saw Dee-Dee! I said bye!" Yes, he's talking more and more, and the key part of that is that we can actually understand what he's saying! Hooray for first sentences!

One of my favorite words that Tommy says is "cheese" not only to ask for a piece of actual cheese, but also to pose for pictures. Although I have a zillion cute pictures from the weekend, I just had to post these first: the many faces of Tommy saying "CHEESE!" I think you'll enjoy them as much as we do. The last picture is technically not a "cheese" picture, but it's my favorite of the bunch. He's the spitting image of his dada!
