Mother's Day 2010

For Mother's Day, Will and Tommy took me to nearby Chesterfield Berry Farm for a day of fun and strawberry picking. We had a ton of fun riding tractors, looking at animals, eating, and of course, picking strawberries! Check out Tommy riding in his John Deere cart giving the thumbs up (he loved it so much he rode it twice!), moon bouncing, taking a tractor ride, playing in the corn, being a cow, digging on sand mountain, climbing on hay mountain, and picking some pretty red berries (about 9lbs. to be exact!). So fun!

Rainbows, Flowers, and....Olives?

Another month gone by. Where in the world has this year gone? Pretty soon our sweet Tommy will be a whopping three years old! Time flies when you're having fun.

Here are some pictures of Tommy with his snapdragons, spray bottle (don't get too close, he WILL spray you), and my sunglasses, pretty rainbows that we've seen from our back porch, and Tommy's favorite food -- OLIVES (black, not green). Hope you all had a wonderful start to June! Don't blink because July will be here before you know it.

Heart of Virginia

Tommy and I spent the first weekend in May at the Heart of Virginia Festival with Gramma and Uncle Jeremy. Unfortunately, Will had to work that weekend so he had to miss out on all the fun. Tommy had a great time climbing on the firetruck, sitting in the airplane, eating a giant hotdog and some funnel cake, dancing, climbing, sliding, and eating a tasty DQ vanilla cone!

And if you can believe it, the fun didn't stop there as we headed back to Gramma's house for plenty of tractor rides with Uncle Jer and fun in the sandbox with Gramma! In the picture with he and Uncle Jer actually driving the tractor, Tommy is steering all by himself. He really seems to have a good feel for driving in general and turning in particular at the ripe old age of almost three. I'm not sure if I should be happy about that or just really nervous, but regardless, it was fun to watch him manuver the mower up into the circular drive and around the cars (with Jer's occasional quick hand to help)! Maybe there's a Nascar driver in our future?! :)

At the end of the day, Tommy and JerJer were worn out! What a fun weekend!

Mmmmm...Cheese

Nothing goes better with spaghetti than parmesan cheese. Tommy took that idea to the extreme a week ago when I served him up his bowl of noodles. He somehow managed to get a brand new container of cheese open and dumped into his bowl before Will and I even made it to the table. We got a good laugh, and I managed to spoon most of it back into the container. Mmmmmm...cheese.

Easter Weekend

We spent our 2010 Easter weekend at Gramma's house enjoying the beautiful spring (summer??) weather that's here to stay in central Virginia. Love the warm temps, but hopefully we won't have too many days of near 90 degree weather this early in the spring! Tommy had a great time driving his tractor, riding with Jer Jer on Gramma's tractor, playing soccer with Nick, raking leaves, and just generally being outside.

Although the Easter Bunny did come by with a nice basket full of chocolate and surprises for Tommy, we also tried to give him some 2-year-old insight into the more meaningful side of this holiday. On our way to church Easter morning, he looked at us and said, "We gonna see Jesus today?" It's a good start.

"Why do you search for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!" Luke 24: 5-6
